I try to open minds,
with the poems that I write.
I speak on many topics,
and stand for what is right.
Among the words that I've written,
and the subjects I have breached.
There is always something special,
in the poems that must be reached.
As you read the poems before you,
I try to touch the inner you.
To open up your thinking,
and ask what you would do.
My poems are words of wisdom,
written from the heart.
But it is wisdom born from life,
and mistakes I made from the start.
So like myself, I ask you,
learn form things you've done.
Be a leader for those around you,
then your battles will soon be won.

How can I change the world,
and should I really try?
Can I make a difference,
or should I just liv and die?
This world has survived for thousands of ,
without any advice from .
Who am I say what is wrong,
or the problems that I see.
This is modern thinking,
and look where we are at.
We are destroying the world around us,
this is not rumor this is fact.
I am not an environmentalist,
just a common man.
But without us doing our part,
our world will never stand.
We must try make a difference,
and change the minds of men.
Nature needs our help,
and with changes we can win.
So think about the future,
and what will be your part.

Take a look in the mirror,
and think about the person looking bac
Is that person the one you expected,
or are there things you lack?
Are you the person you want to be,
or are there changes to be made?
Do you stand for what you think,
or end up hiding in the shade?
This world we live in is tough,
and we don't always believe in ourselves.
But we manage to muddle through,
putting our troubles on the shelf.
With all that goes on around us,
no wonder we are the way we are.
But we have learned to rise above it,
and reach for further stars.
So when your world is crumbling,
and everything seem unfair.
Remember that person in the mirror,
for the changes must start there.

As I sit thinking of the past,
I am forced to see the future.
The memories of times gone by,
but what is to come is torture.
For the past has lead me to this day,
but I arrived without you by my side.
I had to carry on without you,
and because of you I don't have to hide.
Maybe you were not there as much as I needed,
yet because of you I am here today.
You left me on my own too soon,
yet we parted with nothing left to say.
I thank you for the person you were,
and the short time we shared.
Even while you were away,
I always knew you cared.
So as that day approaches,
and I think of our time together.
I say thank you for the love you gave,
and I wish you a Happy Fathers Day

THE REAL YOU
I have traveled all around this world,
with a drink in both my hands.
I've tasted the fruit of many vines,
in many foreign lands.
It took me thirty years,
to see what I had done.
The lives that I had damaged,
the loves I've lost and won.
I tried to be a lot more,
than the me I really am.
I always seemed to fail,
and could never understand.
I have to be the person,
that God meant for me to be.
I have to express my feelings,
so all may see the real me.
So try to be yourself,
not what others want you to be.
The world will like you better,
and they will get the real you.

REAL BEAUTY
Beauty is all around us,
we see every day.
The sunrise on the desert,
or the moon reflecting on the bay.
The flowers that bloom in springtime,
that fills the air with wonderful smells.
The first snow of the winter,
that blankets where ever it fell.
These are things we notice,
because they happen before our eyes.
But is a beauty that is everlasting,
and comes from deep inside.
We see the outer dressings,
and try find the flaws.
We rarely beneath the surface,
the judge by others laws.
God made everything around us,
and the beauty is find.
Forget about the thoughts of others,
and let Heaven be your guide.
